There are a variety of clubs and organisations that run throughout the whole week that use the facilities at the brotherhood halls. Please click on the more link to see the variety.


In March 1933 a Percy Brand conveyed the freehold of the land and the building thereon to 5 persons appointed as Trustees of the Clacton Brotherhood.  At that time, the day to day running of the premises was the responsibility of a Committee of Management, acting under the control of the Trustees. When the Trustees registered the Trust with the Charity Commission in 1996, the Charity Commission stated that there should be 5co-opted Trustees and also one ex-Officio Trustee, that person being the General Secretary of the Brotherhood and Sisterhood Incorporated. Originally the main use of the building was as a place of religious worship by local men, not women in those days.  Services were held regularly on a Sunday afternoon.  It is believed that during World War II, the building was used as a YMCA, & since then it has been the home of its own orchestra, its own mail voice choir, a table tennis club which still exists, the Clacton Tow Silver Band, and over the years many other groups.  There have been extensive alterations to the premises over the years. For many years what is now room 2 housed two snooker tables, and the small room which is now the home of the  Railway Enthusiasts was the band room.
